Gregory Fischer

Greg is President of Shannon & Wilson, bringing more than 30 years of geotechnical and civil engineering experience. He has a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, is the author of more than 20 technical papers, and has taught geotechnical and foundation engineering classes at several universities.

Greg's extensive consulting experience encompasses managing the geotechnical services on large, fast-track projects in a variety of geological conditions, as well as providing his expertise and review on a wide-range of geotechnical and geologic efforts. This includes providing foundation recommendations for structures and bridges; designing cut-and-fill retaining walls, including mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, tieback walls, and soil nail walls; evaluating slope stability, landslides, and rockfall hazards; providing recommendations for rock slope stabilization; designing embankments over soft ground conditions; providing recommendations for excavations and fills; and providing subgrade parameters and pavement design.

Throughout his tenure at Shannon & Wilson, Greg has overseen projects in 25 states and five countries around the world.
