David Read

David Read has a diverse work experience in the field of biology and genomics. David is currently working as a Computational Biologist at Shape Therapeutics Inc. since 2023. Prior to this, they were a PhD student at the University of Washington from 2017 to 2022, specializing in genome sciences with a focus on single-cell technologies and their application in heart and lung biology.

During their time at the University of Washington, David also worked as a Rotation Student at both the Noble Lab and Lee Lab in 2018. In these roles, they gained experience in different research areas within genome sciences and computer science.

Before joining the University of Washington, David worked as a Research Assistant at the Telesnitsky Lab in the Microbiology and Immunology Department at the University of Michigan from 2015 to 2017. Their research focused on assisting with various projects related to microbiology and immunology.

In 2013, David had the opportunity to work as a Summer Intern at the Michigan Molecular Institute, where they gained valuable industry experience.
