Gary Fortin

Gary Fortin is the current COO at ShapeTX. Prior to that, they held several positions in the medical field at various companies. From September 2015 to October 2020, they were the SVP, Business Strategy & Operations, Severe Genetic Diseases at bluebird bio. From January 2013 to September 2015, they worked at Biogen as the Director, Program Leadership & Management and Associate Director, Global Medical. At Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company, they were Sr. Manager, Scientific Alliances & Research, Global Medical Affairs from December 2011 to January 2013. At AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc., they were Associate Director, Medical Communications from January 2011 to November 2011 and Medical Science Liaison II from March 2009 to January 2011. Prior to that, they worked as a Scientist at RheoGene, Inc. from January 2005 to April 2006 and as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Fox Chase Cancer Center from November 2004 to December 2005.

Gary Fortin received their PhD in Microbiology from Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Gary also holds a B.S. in Biology from Brandeis University.
