Heather Heck

Heather Heck is a Senior Financial Analyst at Shapiro Metals. Heather was previously a Corporate Financial Analyst at Precoat Metals and a Senior Project Accountant at SunEdison.

Heather was recruited to Precoat Metals to analyze financial statements and find variances. Heather also performed month end close activities, managed the annual audit, assisted with the annual budget and quarterly forecasting, and uploaded monthly financials to Corporate via HFM. In addition, Heather prepared and maintained Sales & Use Tax accounts, managed and balanced Intercompany accounts, managed and maintained fixed asset records, and assisted with tax package preparation.

While at SunEdison, Heather was recruited to ensure costs on construction projects were accurately reflected in financial statements; they prepared journal entries (GL and sub-ledger), and oversaw inventory management. Heather partnered with AP, AR, Audit and FP&A to ensure proper accounting. Heather also participated in SOX walkthroughs and held responsibility for SOX controls. In addition, Heather worked closely with Internal and External Audit and participated in and tested the implementation of Oracle. Heather left SunEdison due to bankruptcy.

During their time at SunEdison, Heather improved multitude of processes and increased efficiency with financial processes. Heather also took senior role responsibility in the department during times of turnover.

Heather Heck has a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University and a degree in accounting from McKendree University.
