Elizabeth Stewart Byrd

Elizabeth Stewart Byrd, B.A., LNHA has more than 20 years of experience in various roles within the healthcare industry. Their current position is Vice President of Health Services at The Sharon at SouthPark since November 2021, where they are responsible for overseeing health services. Prior to this, they served as the Nursing Home Administrator and Assistant Nursing Home Administrator at the same company. From 2001 to 2020, Elizabeth worked at Sharon Towers, The Presbyterian Home at Charlotte, where they held the position of Director of Resident Well Being, managing recreational programs and therapeutic interventions. Elizabeth Stewart also worked as a Recreational Therapist, delivering therapy services to healthcare and assisted living residents. Before joining Sharon Towers, Elizabeth worked at Beverly Healthcare as the Director of Recreational Therapy and as a Recreational Therapist. In these roles, they coordinated therapy services, developed new opportunities, and provided goal-oriented interventions to increase patient functioning. Elizabeth Stewart Byrd earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between the years 1992 and 1997. Elizabeth Stewart also obtained additional certifications, including being a Licensed Recreational Therapist from the NC Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure in September 2008, and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification in June 1998.
