Kai Ying is a Principal Engineer/Researcher at Sharp Labs of America since October 2016, focusing on 5G Advanced and Beyond 5G as a 3GPP RAN1 delegate. Previous experience includes working as a Senior Communications Systems Researcher in the same organization, where involvement in new radio (NR) developments occurred. Prior research internships at Sharp Labs of America and Ratrix Technologies involved link-level simulations and MIMO-OFDM system implementation, respectively. Kai Ying's academic background includes a Ph.D. and a master's degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, along with master's and bachelor's degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Research interests span nonlinear signal processing, MIMO, OFDM, and visible light communications, complemented by contributions as a Graduate Research Assistant and Visiting Scholar in various esteemed institutions.
