Erez Biton

VP Systems & AI at Shasta Cloud

Erez Biton has extensive work experience in various roles related to system architecture, technology development, and leadership. Erez currently holds the position of VP Systems & AI at Shasta Cloud, where they have been working since 2023. Prior to this, Erez was VP architecture and system at Parallel Wireless from July 2021 to August 2022. Erez also served as the Chief Architect, access at Parallel Wireless, where they were responsible for the LTE and 5G stack system architecture from October 2018 to July 2021.

Before joining Parallel Wireless, Erez worked at Nokia for several years. Erez held the role of R&D CTO, CloudBand Business Unit from January 2017 to September 2018, where they were involved in devising the long-term strategy for CloudBand's path to 5G and leading innovation in new NFV technologies. Prior to this, they served as Director of Technology, Cloudband Business Unit from April 2015 to January 2017, leading development in Cloudband for three European Horizon 2020 Projects. Erez started their journey at Nokia as a Senior System Architect in the CloudBand Business Unit from August 2013 to March 2015.

Before their time at Nokia, Erez worked as a Post-doc associate at Ben Gurion University from October 2010 to July 2013, where they were part of research projects focused on FLAVIA (an FP7 STREP) and Cornet (an Israeli consortium on cognitive radio networks). Prior to that, they held roles at Alvarion as Director Advanced Technologies RRM, CTO Group from January 2009 to May 2010, and as a Senior System Engineer & team leader from December 2005 to December 2008.

Erez has also worked at Clariton Networks as a Senior Design Engineer from January 2004 to December 2005, at Bell Labs Lucent Technologies as an intern from June 2002 to September 2002, at Metalink as an Algorithm Engineer from March 1998 to March 2000, and served as an Officer in the IDF from 1993 to 1996.

Erez Biton completed their education in the field of Electrical Engineering at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Erez obtained their B.Sc. degree from 1989 to 1993, followed by an M.Sc. degree from 1996 to 1998. Erez further pursued a Ph.D. degree from 2000 to 2005, all at the Technion.
