Paul Jacks

Paul JACKS has a strong background in the banking industry, with experience in various roles and responsibilities. Paul began their career in UK banking & finance at Williams & Glyn's Bank Limited in 1983. From 1994 to 2009, they worked at RBS as the Head of SME Business Restructuring, South, where they managed a large team and handled a distressed balance sheet. In 2010, they joined the Future Williams & Glyn Team at RBS as the Head of Restructuring & Recoveries, overseeing the extraction and transfer of the UK Corporate portfolio to a new entity. Paul then moved on to Nationwide Building Society in 2014, where they served as the National Head of Commercial Real Estate and successfully managed the non-performing and non-core Commercial Real Estate portfolio. Finally, in 2016, they joined Shawbrook Bank as the Director of Commercial Restructuring & Recoveries, where they designed and built an approach to the bank's management of non-performing loans, prioritizing capital protection and customer support. Paul's educational journey started in 1997 when they obtained a BSc (Hons) in Banking & Finance from London Metropolitan University, specializing in Financial Law, Business Economics, Accountancy, and Strategic Marketing. Lastly, Paul attended Buckhurst Hill County High School from 1978 to 1983, but did not obtain a degree there. In addition to their academic pursuits, Paul has obtained various certifications, including one in Cyber Security from The Open University in 2018 and multiple certifications from The Football Association (FA) in 2021 and 2022. Paul is also an accredited member of the Institute For Turnaround (IFT), although the specific year of accreditation is not provided.
