Steve Gardner

Steve Gardner has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Steve is currently working as the Head of Engineering at Shawbrook Bank, a position they started in 2023. Prior to this, they held the same role at wejo from 2022 to 2023.

Before joining Shawbrook Bank and wejo, Gardner worked at Genesys from 2017 to 2022 in various roles. Steve served as the Director of Back-end Engineering, where they led the team in maturing processes and technology. Steve also held the position of Director of Software Engineering, overseeing agile teams and being responsible for development and DevOps. Gardner's tenure at Genesys ended with the role of Senior Manager of Development.

From 2014 to 2017, Gardner was the Head of Software Development and Support at Silver Lining Solutions Ltd. Steve led an agile team, acted as a line manager, scrum master, and technical architect, and ensured the growth of company infrastructure.

Prior to that, they were the Head of Development at T@lecom Limited from 2012 to 2014. Gardner led the development team and specialized in mobile software and field force automation.

Gardner's professional journey began at Millward Brown in 2007, where they served as a Technical Consultant. Steve was involved in leadership, mentoring, and management of an offshore development team.

Before Millward Brown, Gardner worked as an Analyst Programmer at the University of Warwick, where they developed and supported bespoke .Net applications.

Steve'scareer started at bit10 ltd. in 2001, where they began as a Developer and later became the Development Team Leader.

Overall, Gardner has gained extensive experience in leading engineering teams, maturing processes and technology, and managing agile development projects.

Steve Gardner attended the University of Warwick from 1998 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science. Steve then continued their education at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School from 2000 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Management Science.
