Jackie Stewart

Jackie Stewart is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Division of Global Surgery at the University of Cape Town since October 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Executive Director at SHAWCO from January 2021. They also served as the Director of the Masiphuhlisane Research Centre and Director of Development at Stellenbosch University from August 2008 to December 2020. In addition, they were the Head of the trauma counselling department at The Trauma Centre for Survivors of Violence and Torture from December 2001 to July 2007. Jackie holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Community Psychology from Stellenbosch University.
