Deputy Administrator - Public Health Emergency Preparedness at SHELBY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Steve Fort, MS, NRP, Paramedic, currently serves as the Deputy Administrator and Emergency Response Coordinator at the Shelby County Health Department, focusing on Public Health Emergency Preparedness since April 2018. As a Course Developer and Adjunct Faculty member at TN e-Campus, Steve develops and teaches online Fire Science courses. Steve is also a co-owner of LifeLink Health and Safety, Inc., instructing courses in ACLS, BLS, and First Aid. Previously, Steve held the position of Paramedic Program Director at the Memphis Division of Fire Services for 24 years and served as a Regional Representative for the National Academy of EMD from 1997 to 2009. Steve began a career in emergency services as a Firefighter/EMT with the City of Kilgore Fire Department from 1981 to 1985. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas and a BPS in Fire Administration from The University of Memphis, along with an AAS in Emergency Medical Services from Southwest Tennessee Community College.
