Vinson Thompson

Vince Thompson, Ed.D., LSSBB, ASM, ITIL, CWA, CTNS, ITF has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Starting as an Inside Sales Representative at MCI Telecommunications Corporation in 1993, they progressed through various sales roles in telecommunications companies like SunCom Wireless, Worldcom Telecommunications, and AT&T. Vinson (Vince) then transitioned to the healthcare industry as a Territory Sales Representative at Medline Industries, Inc. before moving to academia as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Belhaven University. Presently, Vince serves as the Director of Strategic Operations at Shelby County Schools, holding prior leadership positions within the school system. Their experience showcases a blend of sales, education, and operational expertise.

Vinson (Vince) Thompson earned their BS in Political Science from the University of Tennessee Martin in 1992. Vinson (Vince) then pursued a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from Union University, completing this degree in 2008. In 2017, they obtained The Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ (CRPC®) Professional Designation from the College for Financial Planning. Additionally, they hold various certifications including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB), Certified Wireless Analyst, Scrum Master Certified (SMC), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB), IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL), CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, and Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist.
