Maria João Castelão

Maria João Castelão is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in leadership roles, currently serving as a Board Member and Head of Design at both Xarevision and Shelf.AI since February 2016. Shelf.AI specializes in integrating conversational interfaces and artificial intelligence into e-commerce, working with top-tier clients to enhance customer interaction. Prior to these positions, Maria held various design roles, including Designer at SONAE and Freelancer, and was crucial in managing communication and marketing at Xarevision from 2007 to 2012. Early in the career, Maria also engaged in teaching arts and English at primary levels, alongside freelance design projects. Maria holds a Master's degree in Multimedia from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto and has completed multiple certifications in marketing and creative communication.
