Asika Chijioke MNSE, COREN has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Asika started their career as an Engineer Intern at Power Holding Company of Nigeria in 2008. Asika then worked as an Electrical Engineer at the Ministry of Public utilities and rural development from 2010 to 2011, where they installed traffic light controllers, conducted preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, and repaired faulty components. Asika then joined Lukas Surveys and Engineering Limited Port Harcourt as an Electrical Control Engineer from 2011 to 2014, where they designed new PLC control systems, troubleshooted PLC systems, and modified PLC programs. From 2014 onwards, Asika joined Shelf Drilling, initially as a Rig Electrician and then as Chief Electrician. In their roles, they managed preventive maintenance programs, coordinated drilling equipment change-outs, installed and commissioned seajet pumps, and performed daily preventive maintenance tasks. Additionally, they were responsible for document translation and proofreading to ensure compliance with client requests and ethical standards.

Asika Chijioke MNSE, COREN completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Madonna University Nigeria from 2002 to 2007. In addition to their degree, Asika Chijioke MNSE, COREN has obtained several certifications, including Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader Course and Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training from CHARKIN Maritime and Offshore Safety Centre in 2022. Asika also holds certifications from various institutions such as Shelf Drilling and Florence Academy in areas such as Dropped Object Awareness, Electrical Safety Rules, Conflict Resolution, and Fire Safety. Asika Chijioke MNSE, COREN achieved the Engineer certification from the Nigeria Society of Engineers in 2020 and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in 2019.
