Mihael Sokec

Chief Mechanic at Shelf Drilling

Mihael Sokec has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanics. Mihael started their career at Peugeot in 2005 as a Mechanic and worked there until 2010. In 2010, they joined Transocean and served as a Motor Operator until 2012, after which they transitioned into the role of Rig Mechanic until 2014. In 2015, Mihael moved to Shelf Drilling and held the position of Rig Mechanic until 2018 when they were promoted to the role of Chief Mechanic, which they currently hold.

Mihael Sokec has a background in marine engineering, having studied Marine Engineering at an unspecified institution. Mihael also completed a Marine Engineering Technician program at Maritime School Bakar and a Mechanical Engineering Technician program at Engineering School of Rijeka. In addition, Mihael has obtained various certifications related to their field, including certifications in advanced fire fighting, basic offshore safety, basic safety training, medical first aid, survival craft and rescue boats proficiency, and security awareness, among others. Mihael has received these certifications from institutions such as the Croatian Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, OPITO, Caterpillar Inc., Progress Rail (a Caterpillar Company), Transocean, Republic of Croatia's Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas UK. Mihael also holds a Shoulders Measurement Certificate from Oil & Gas UK and a Top Drive TDS Mechanical DC certificate from NOV. Mihael has an expected certification in 2023 as a 3500 series Master Mechanic from Caterpillar Inc. Mihael also possesses an unrestricted medical offshore work certificate from Oil & Gas UK.
