M.D. Sumon Ali

Md Sumon Ali is an experienced professional in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental studies, currently serving as an Assistant GIS Specialist at Sheltech Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. since December 2024. Prior to this role, Md Sumon Ali worked as a Research Consultant at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) from October 2023 to December 2024, focusing on satellite image processing and image analysis for environmental projects. Md Sumon Ali also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Rajshahi between March 2020 and September 2023, contributing to projects on heatwave patterns and socio-economic impacts of riverbank erosion. Academically, Md Sumon Ali holds an MS in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Rajshahi and a B.Sc. in the same field from the same institution, complemented by earlier education in science at Nawabganj Govt. College and Kholsi Bilateral High School.
