Stephen W. Burkholder

Stephen W. Burkholder lives in Broadway and has served as a director from Rockingham County since 1992. He is currently the chair of the Compensation & Benefits committee and serves on the Annual Meeting Committee. He was raised in the New Market area and moved to the Broadway-Timberville area after graduating from college.

He has served as the board’s secretary/treasurer, vice chair and chair. Steve is a Credentialed Cooperative Director and received the Board Leadership Certificate through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

He recently retired and sold Broadway Supermarket, where he had been the sole proprietor for many years. Steve worked in the store since graduating from Virginia Tech. While at Tech, he received a degree in Forestry Resource Management.

Steve is married to the former Connie Dove and they have three children. He is a past member of the board of directors of the Broadway-Timberville Chamber of Commerce. The Burkholders are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
