Matthew Roethle

Matthew Roethle has over 18 years of professional experience in accounting and finance. Matthew most recently worked as the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP since December 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Finance at the same company from October 2018 to November 2022. Before joining Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, they were a Controller at the company from June 2017 to September 2018. Matthew also served as the Chief Financial Officer at Hueston Hennigan LLP from January 2015 to June 2017. From August 2012 to January 2015, they were the Director of Finance at Greenberg Glusker LLP. Matthew gained valuable experience as a Manager and Senior Staff Accountant at EY from October 2009 to August 2012 and from October 2006 to September 2009, respectively. Matthew started their career as a Staff Accountant at EY from January 2005 to September 2006. Matthew also worked as an Instructor at Nova Group Japan from January 2003 to January 2004.

Matthew Roethle has a strong education background in accounting. Matthew completed their Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Accounting at California State University-Long Beach - College of Business from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health from California State University, Long Beach from 2000 to 2002. Matthew began their academic journey at Santa Monica College, earning an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Science from 1999 to 2000. Matthew briefly attended UC Irvine with a focus on Chemistry in 1998. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained multiple certifications as a Certified Public Accountant, with certifications from the State of Georgia, the Government of the District of Columbia, and the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
