Michael Stewart

Michael D. Stewart is the firm’s General Counsel and is based in the firm's Orange County Office. Michael specializes in legal ethics and risk management. He serves as counselor to the firm’s attorneys on an array of matters including client and matter intake, engagement and disengagement issues, policy development and enforcement, conflicts of interest, internal investigations, the firm’s contracts with vendors and consultants, the firm’s partnership agreement, subpoena compliance, lateral partner intake and integration, insurance renewals, and the defense and coordination of claims and arbitrations. Michael also sits on various firm committees and advises the firm’s Executive Committee. He has spoken at various ethics conferences including the ABA National Conference on Professional Responsibility. Michael is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Professionalism & Ethics Committee.
