Jay Lo

Scientist II at Sherlock Biosciences

Jay Lo is currently a Scientist II at Sherlock Biosciences. Prior to that, they were a Prototype Engineer at mFluiDx from December 2018 to May 2021. There, they developed and improved the capabilities of the testing cartridges for POC diagnostics. Jay also designed cartridges, optimized the bioassay, and improved overall performance by 400%. Additionally, they built the first fully integrated device with a market-competitive LOD and a semi-automatic analyzing script that sped up the quantification process over 10 times.

From November 2016 to October 2018, Jay Lo worked as a Researcher at Advanced Comm. Engineering Solution (ACE Solution) Biomedical Branch. There, they led 7 team members in executing a $3.5M NTD research grant. Jay also developed a Terahertz (THz) technology compatible bioassay for point of care testing. Jay sold THz technology to the semiconductor industry for analyzing defects in 3D IC package and to the communication industry for evaluating materials using in the high-frequency system.

Prior to their work at ACE Solution Biomedical Branch, Jay Lo was a Ph.D. student at National Tsing Hua University from September 2011 to August 2015. Before that, they were a Graduate Student at National Tsing Hua University from July 2007 to June 2009.

They are on a team with Guy Thompson II - Director of Process Engineering, Brian James - Lead Systems Engineering & Human Factors. Their manager is Greg Dale, VP, Engineering & Product Development.
