Azam M. has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Azam is currently working as an Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) at Shermco Industries since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Leidos as a Distribution Engineer from January 2021 to July 2021, where they designed distribution projects and conducted structural analysis.
From October 2019 to March 2020, Azam worked as an Electrical Engineer at Salas O'Brien. Their responsibilities included design and deployment of the LSU labeling standard protocol for fiber optic cabling.
Before that, they worked at CenterPoint Energy as a Distribution Planning Engineer from June 2018 to August 2018. Azam was responsible for creating distribution development plans and testing and revising current procedures for future designs.
From August 2017 to December 2017, Azam worked as a Standards & Materials Engineer at CenterPoint Energy. Azam was involved in designing distribution, substation, and transmission standards, as well as evaluating new materials for their application and performance on the system.
Azam also gained experience as a Fiber Optic Engineer at Louisiana State University from January 2015 to August 2017. Azam was responsible for developing and deploying the new LSU labeling standard protocol for fiber optic cabling, as well as testing fiber circuits using optical test equipment.
In addition to their engineering roles, Azam has experience in hospitality and leadership roles. Azam worked as a Stadium Suite Captain at Drakes Catering during Louisiana State University seasonal football games in 2014. Azam also worked as a Summer Camp Counselor at YMCA of the Capital Area during the summer of 2014, where they demonstrated leadership and communication skills while ensuring the safety of campers.
Azam M. pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University, where they studied from 2014 to 2019. In addition to their undergraduate degree, Azam has obtained two certifications. In December 2019, they successfully completed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Electrical and Computer exam, administered by NCEES. Moreover, in January 2020, Azam obtained the Louisiana EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification from the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS).
