Tia Jackson-Truitt, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Tia currently serves as the Chief Diversity Officer at the Penn Museum of the University of Pennsylvania, where they collaborate with the executive team and department leaders to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) into all aspects of the organization. In these roles, they developed and implemented diversity and inclusion curricula, led recruitment and retention initiatives, and managed budgets for student support and program activities.
Before working at Georgia Tech, Tia served as a Forensic Social Worker at the Dekalb County Public Defender's Office and as the Director of Day Program at Connections CSP, Inc., where they provided treatment programming and oversaw internal complaints processes.

Tia Jackson-Truitt, PhD has a strong educational background in the fields of Student Counseling and Personnel Services, Social Work, and Psychology. Tia completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Student Counseling and Personnel Services from the UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education, with a time period of study from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in Social Work, during the period of 2001 to 2003. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware, where they studied from 1997 to 2001.
