Heath Niemi has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Heath started off as a Troop Commander in E Troop, 4th Squadron 7th Cavalry Regiment, demonstrating effective leadership and operational excellence. Heath then moved on to the prestigious 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), where they served in multiple roles such as Company Operations Officer, Battalion S3, Operations, Regiment S3, Operations, and Regiment Executive Officer. Throughout these roles, they focused on strategic planning, meticulous execution, and fostering a culture of unity and excellence. Heath also served as the Chief of Staff at the Army Special Operations Aviation Command, where they orchestrated and optimized operations on a global scale. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Global Sales and Development and Managing Partner at Martin UAV (a Shield AI Company), where they spearheaded international strategies and drove sales growth in the unmanned aviation systems market. Heath later became the Vice President of Business Development and then the Vice President of Growth at Shield AI, where they played a pivotal role in driving expansion and business strategy.

Heath Niemi attended the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Management. In 2005 to 2006, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University. In 2014 to 2015, they furthered their education at The United States Army War College, obtaining a Master of Strategic Studies degree in Military Strategic Studies. Additionally, they hold certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and various qualifications in aviation, including a Commercial Pilot certification for Rotorcraft and qualifications for MH-47G, MH-6M, and OH-58 C/D.
