Prashanth Bala

Prashanth Bala is the Chief of Ambulatory Surgical Services. Prashanth provides administrative and operational leadership across Shields ASC network as well as oversees the growth and performance of all ASC programs and services to ensure patient safety, customer service, and clinical quality outcomes for the patient population.

Prior to being appointed VP of ASC Operations in 2019, Prashanth was ASC Director at Shields, serving as administrator of The Surgery Center in Shrewsbury, MA. He joined Shields in 2017 from Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin where he held the position of Executive Director and CEO of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Prashanth also has experience in clinical operations consulting and working for the Veterans Affairs hospital system.

Prashanth holds two master's degrees. An MHA from The University of Kentucky and an MS from Purdue University. His undergraduate degree is from Wittenberg University.
