Don Walkinshaw has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present. Don began their career as a Graduate Student Assistant at York University, where they conducted molecular experiments and mentored students. Don then moved on to McGill University, where they served as a Research Scientist, leading research projects and mentoring graduate students. Don gained further experience in the field of life sciences commercialization as a Life Sciences Commercialization Intern at the Innovations and Partnerships Office, University of Toronto. Following this, they held a position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University Health Network.
In 2012, Don joined Tornado Medical Systems as a Business Development Intern for a short period. From there, they transitioned to Shift Health, where they held various roles over the years. Don started as a Consultant and later advanced to Senior Consultant, Engagement Leader, Director of Digital Strategy, and ultimately, Senior Director of Consulting. During their time at Shift Health, they worked on digital strategy, consulting, and leadership roles.
Don Walkinshaw received their education in the field of Kinesiology and Health Science. Don first attended York University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science with honors. Don then pursued further studies at York University from 2004 to 2006, earning a Master of Science degree in the same field. Finally, they attended McGill University from 2006 to 2011 and completed their education with a PhD in Experimental Medicine.
