Dan Richards

Dan Richards has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Dan started their career as a Computer Store Manager at the University of Rhode Island in 2007, where they successfully created an ordering system and utilized MySQL for targeted marketing. From 2015 to 2016, Dan worked as a Software Engineer at Virgin Pulse, where they utilized PHP and Javascript to provide custom Wellness SAAS platforms to Fortune 500 companies. Dan also contributed to scaling the business and developed admin tools for client support. In 2016, Dan joined ShineOn, where they held various positions. As the Lead Software Engineer, they played a crucial role in planning, developing, and maintaining tools for a seller's network of 10,000+ stores using PHP, Laravel, Node/Javascript, and AWS. Later, they took on the role of Head of Engineering, where they led new technical initiatives, facilitated strategic integrations, and onboarded new engineers. Currently, Dan serves as the Chief Technology Officer at ShineOn, leveraging their expertise to empower team members and refactor CPU-intensive services to Lambdas.

Dan Richards attended the University of Rhode Island from 2010 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. In addition to their degree, Dan also received the Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) certification from Apple in February 2012.
