Shane Houghtaling

Shane Houghtaling is currently the Resource Manager at Shockoe. Prior to this, they worked as a Strategic Workforce Planning Analyst at EY from February 2019 to February 2022. In this role, Shane worked with the Workforce Planning Leader and local leadership to implement the workforce planning strategy across their local respective markets and/or service offerings. This included socialization of desired leverage model by Region/SSL or service offering to support the business workforce strategy at the region/SMU or service offering level, analyzing tool output data compared to history and expectations as set forth by the SL Workforce Planning Leader, highlighting any areas to be further discussed, holding frequent reporting discussions with Talent, EM and Finance, analyzing desired leverage compared to business direction, executing monthly SL agnostic process (bottoms up approach of supply and demand) with local Talent and EM), as shared via the AWP team, maintaining and coordinating a full listing, as directed by the AWP team, of all performance issues, VISA risks, Leaves of Absence impacts and attrition risks, promotion projections (CPA risks) and mobility projections, participating in strategy discussions around potential impacts to workforce at a local level, monitoring GDS, Automation, SDC and Campus Hiring plans, in line with the SL Workforce Planning guidance and reporting on variances, understanding and articulating the Talent Analytics platform outcomes (as shared via AWP) and impacts to local workforce planning with local Operations and Local Teams (Talent, EM and Finance), presenting analysis to leaders in a format that enables them to review and make strategic decisions, and creating visualizations to explain complex concepts, to include both short and long-term views to decisions (i.e., TNR, Margin, potential recessions, talent policy changes, and alternative solutions that will bear greater impact to the business).

Shane Houghtaling's educational career began with a diploma in welding from Sussex County Vocational Technical High School.
