Michael Burroughs

Michael Burroughs has extensive experience in the field of information security and privacy. Michael has held several leadership roles, including Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Director of Information Security & Privacy. In their roles, they have been responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive IT security programs, advising senior leadership on security matters, and building global information security programs. Michael has also served as an advisor and consultant, providing guidance on security and privacy to various industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutical, and consumer products.

Michael Burroughs has pursued various educational programs and certifications in the field of information systems and cybersecurity. Michael completed the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Program at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Program at Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy. Furthermore, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Point Park University. In addition to their academic qualifications, Michael has obtained several certifications, including the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from (ISC)², Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) from ISACA, Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², and GDPR F and GDPR P from IBITGQ.
