CEO at Shodair Children’s Hospital

Craig Aasved serves as Chief Executive Officer for Shodair Children’s Hospital, recognized as Montana’s leading acute child and adolescent psychiatry services, residential treatment, and genetic testing and counseling services to patients, with 99 percent Montanans.

Under his leadership, the organization has clarified its vision for quality, growth and financial steward, with a strong focus on culture. Shodair Children’s Hospital is the state-wide leader in children’s psychiatric care, and has a nationally renowned medical genetics program.

Since joining Shodair Children’s Hospital in December 2015, Aasved has focused on future growth, by mentoring the leadership team to reduce employee turnover, create a collaborative environment, while keeping patient’s needs as the top priority. Knowing the growing need of children suffering from mental illness, Aasved firmly believes cultivating donors to support Shodair’s mission to heal, help and inspire hope.

Previously, Aasved served as COO & Regional Chief Management Services Officer for Providence St. Patrick Hospital, a 257-bed level trauma center, located in Missoula, Montana. During his tenure, Aasved was credited with growing market share by 2%. Aasved also served as CEO of North Valley Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, located in Whitefish, Montana. There he led the construction of a $30M replacement hospital, medical office complex, and medical office building in Eureka (50 miles from Whitefish). Aasved has been leading healthcare organizations for 33 years, and strongly believes in establishing and nurturing relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

Aasved earned his Bachelor of Business & Healthcare Administration from Concordia College and his MBA from the University of Colorado.

Aasved and his wife Kathy have 5 children who are constantly teaching them life lessons and humility. During his free-time he enjoys golfing, boating, fishing, weight-lifting, high school sports and spending time with his family.
