Luis A. Dibos M.D.

Luis A. Dibos MD, FACS has extensive experience in the field of cardiac surgery. Their most recent role was as the Chief of Cardiac Surgery at ShorePoint Health in Port Charlotte & Punta Gorda, beginning in January 2018. Prior to this, they were self-employed as the President and CEO of LAD Cardiovascular Surgery, LLC from February 2017.

Dr. Dibos has also worked as an Attending Cardiac Surgeon at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital from July 1996 to January 2017. Before that, they served as a Physician Partner and President at Chesapeake Cardiothoracic Surgery P.C. from July 1996 to June 2011. Luis A. was previously the Chief Cardiothoracic Surgery Resident at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation from July 1995 to June 1996.

Dr. Dibos completed their Chief Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship and Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at SUNY at Syracuse from July 1994 to June 1995 and from July 1993 to June 1994 respectively. Luis A. also served as the Chief General Surgery Resident at Union Memorial Hospital from July 1992 to June 1993, and as a Surgery Resident from July 1989 to June 1992.

Luis A. Dibos MD, FACS attended Hampden-Sydney College from 1978 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Luis A. then pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, specializing in Microbiology, from 1980 to 1983. Finally, they attended Ponce School of Medicine from 1986 to 1988, earning their MD degree in Medicine.
