Bassam Saadany

Bassam Saadany, CTO/COO and co-founder of Si-Ware Systems. Bringing MEMS products to market, at Si-Ware his group developed the world’s first single-chip FT spectrometer. With more than 25 years of experience in the photonics and semiconductor industry, his background includes R&D as well as business management. Before co-founding Si-Ware, he has been with MEMScap, MentorGraphics, and Enppi. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, and a Ph.D. in MEMS and Nanostructures from the University of Paris XI, France. He is an author and co-author of more than 100 publications in international journals and conferences, as well as holding more than 50 patents. Bassam is the principal inventor of SiMOSTTM technology enabling micro fabrication of optical systems on a single chip.
