Matthew J. Olsen

Matthew J. Olsen is the Chief Privacy Officer and Data Protection Officer at Sidley Austin. Prior to their current role, Olsen served as the Chief Privacy and Data Sharing Officer at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from November 2013 to November 2017. Matthew also worked as a Senior Privacy Analyst at the Social Security Administration from August 2008 to November 2013 and as a Privacy, FOIA, and Records Officer at the Peace Corps from December 2007 to August 2008. Olsen began their career as a Deputy FOIA Officer at The National Archives from July 2001 to December 2007.

Matthew J. Olsen attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they received a Master's degree in American Theirtory (United States).
