John Moustakas

John Moustakas is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Siena College, where a leading research program in observational cosmology is managed alongside teaching undergraduate courses in physics, astrophysics, and data science. Moustakas has served in various roles at Siena College, including Associate Professor and Department Chair, overseeing one of the largest baccalaureate physics departments in the country. The academic journey includes a postdoctoral position at UCSD focused on data processing and analysis for astronomical surveys, as well as an Assistant Research Scientist role at New York University, which resulted in significant scientific contributions and publications. Moustakas earned a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Arizona and holds a BA in Astronomy and Physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
