Derek Hess

Derek Hess is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in strategy, business development, and military operations. Currently serving as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Sierra Nevada Corporation since November 2015, Derek previously held roles as a Professional Consultant and Senior Vice President at Beechcraft. Derek's career in the United States Air Force spanned over two decades, culminating in key leadership positions such as Vice Commander of First Air Force and Commander of the 53d Weapons Evaluation Group, contributing to the management and testing of advanced military systems. Derek's educational background includes a Master's degree in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University and a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy.
