Job description

The Business Development Associate will help drive our sales and grow the business. This role will be responsible for attracting new clients and building solid relationships with them while maintaining existing relationships. Other duties will include conducting market research, prospecting potential new clients, developing business strategies and pitches, managing a variety of projects, and identifying new business opportunities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Build familiarity with the company’s vision, mission, guiding principles to accomplish goals and objectives.

  • Conduct market/new business research and identify potential clients. Prospecting these potential clients for Sigma Group opportunities (up to 30 calls per day).

  • Cultivate strong relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships.

  • Develop a strong proficiency with Sigma’s CRM; collate, update, and maintain client information in the CRM.

  • Work closely with teams across departments to implement growth strategies.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyze sales data to inform or update business development strategies.

  • Assist with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference materials, and other documents as required.

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.

  • Identify new business opportunities and partners.

  • Demonstrate strong professionalism and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional professional presence, strong communication skills – verbal and written

  • Ability to quickly become proficient in Insightly CRM, Ring Central, LinkedIN, Badger, , SIGMA Group developed software and Google sheets/Excel

  • Strong internet navigation and research capabilities

  • Must possess exceptional and strong attention to detail

  • Deadline and critical path oriented

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or related field.

  • 1 - 2 years’ relevant experience in business development or similar field preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure

  • Strong organization and project management skills.

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years relevant experience in a customer service, prospecting type role

  • Previous administrative experience in a collaborative environment
