Russ Lloyd

Senior Staff ASIC Design Engineer at SigmaSense

Russ Lloyd has over 30 years of work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Russ is currently working as a Senior Staff ASIC Design Engineer at SigmaSense since April 2022. Prior to this, Russ worked at Natural Intelligence Systems for 5 and a half years as a Senior Member Technical Staff.

Before joining Natural Intelligence Systems, Russ spent 4 years at Micron Technology as an ASIC Design and Verification Engineer. During their time there, they were responsible for designing high-speed, high data-rate RTL designs for solid-state drive controllers, SERDES controllers, and automata processors. Russ was proficient in System Verilog, scripting, verification, and several other design tools.

Russ also has significant experience working at Zilog as a Staff Design Engineer for over 15 years. Their role involved designing, verifying, and validating digital and mixed-signal peripherals for microcontroller ICs. Russ utilized schematic and RTL entry, designed physical layout, and performed verification using Verilog and transistor-level simulators.

Prior to Zilog, Russ worked as a Design Engineer at Grass Valley Group for 3 years and at GTE Communication Systems for 3 years. At Grass Valley Group, their responsibilities included circuit board design, and at GTE Communication Systems, they designed portions of an ASIC used in fiber transmitters/repeaters/receivers.

Russ started their career as a Systems Test Engineer at Lockheed Missiles and Space, where they worked on the automated system test of the electrical power subsystem and thermal control subsystem for the Hubble Space Telescope.

Russ Lloyd attended Brigham Young University from 1979 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, Russ Lloyd completed their high school education at Baldwin Park High School.
