Howard Melnick

Howard Melnick is the current Chief Information Officer at Signet Jewelers. Prior to this, they served as SVP and Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Ralph Lauren Corporation from April 2008 to June 2017. In this role, they were responsible for creating the global information technology vision and strategy, driving innovation through the creative use of technology, and building strong global teams across three continents to provide solutions and deliver exceptional services.

Some notable accomplishments during their time at Ralph Lauren include building world class digital customer facing systems, implementing a comprehensive cybersecurity and privacy program, and managing large complex global programs and ERP projects that delivered significant benefits.

Before joining Ralph Lauren, Melnick served as SVP, Information Technology at Marriott International from January 1996 to March 2008. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of over 700 people in providing solutions and services that supported Marriott’s business goals. Howard also briefed the Board of Directors on key matters related to information technology.

Prior to Marriott, Melnick served as Director of International Information Systems at PepsiCo International from January 1990 to December 1996. In this role, they were responsible for setting the strategic direction for PepsiCo’s international information systems, developing roadmaps and frameworks, and participating in overall business strategic planning efforts.

Howard Melnick received their MBA in finance from Fordham Gabelli School of Business and their B.S. in accounting from Binghamton University.

Howard Melnick reports to Virginia C. Drosos, CEO. They are on a team with Jamie Singleton - President, Kay, Zales and Peoples, Rebecca Wooters - Chief Digital Officer, and Kecia Caffie - SVP, General Manager of Piercing Pagoda.
