Sam Scates

Sam Scates has worked in the renewable energy industry since 2011. Theirfirst role was an Intern at the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. In 2016, they became a Campaign Organizing Intern at Appalachian Voices, where they served as a liaison between landowners and state environmental organizations, planned and executed environmental campaigns, and planned and led information sessions and events throughout the New River Valley. In 2018, Sam took on the role of Renewable Energy Outreach Associate at 3Degrees Group, Inc. In 2019, Sam joined Sigora Solar where they held the roles of Regional Sales Manager, Solar Analyst, and Assistant Regional Manager.

Sam Scates attended Virginia Tech from 2013 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy and Planning from the School of Architecture and Design.
