Kate Martin

Kate Martin is currently the VP, Technology at Sila Nanotechnologies. Prior to this, they served as the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Petroleum Environmental Research Forum from January 2014 to February 2018. Kate has also worked as an advisor to the president of Oronite at Chevron from September 2007 to May 2020. Kate's research experience includes working at the MIT - Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research from January 2004 to July 2007 and at the MIT Laboratory for Energy and the Environment from August 2002 to January 2004. Prior to their research career, Kate worked as a laser and optics engineer at Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. from September 2000 to July 2002.

Kate Martin received their Ph.D. in Engineering Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, their S.M. in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and their BA in Physics from Reed College.
