Liu Zhou

Senior Scientist at Silatronix

Liu Zhou has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. From 2006 to 2007, Liu worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Calgary. They then joined the University of Rhode Island in 2008, where they held multiple roles including Graduate Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and eventually became a Postdoctoral Researcher. During this time, Liu focused on researching and developing wide-temperature-range electrolytes for Lithium-ion batteries, conducting various tests, and analyzing the surface chemistry of the batteries. In 2013, Liu moved on to Silatronix, Inc., where they initially worked as an Electrochemist. In this role, Liu played a vital role in developing Li-ion battery capacity and safety breakthroughs by combining organosilicon electrolytes with different electrode materials. They also conducted electrochemical tests and post-mortem surface analysis on electrode samples. Liu's contributions led to their promotion to the position of Senior Scientist in September 2019 at Silatronix, Inc.

Liu Zhou has an extensive education history. They completed their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Hubei Normal University from 1995 to 1999. Liu Zhou then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrochemistry at South China Normal University, which they completed from 2003 to 2006. Continuing their academic journey, Liu Zhou obtained another Master of Science degree, this time in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, at The University of Calgary, from 2006 to 2007. Finally, Liu Zhou earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island, where they studied from 2008 to 2012.
