Sepehr Benis

Sepehr Benis has worked in a variety of roles related to photonics engineering and research. In 2021, they began working as a Staff Photonics Engineer at SiLC Technologies, Inc., and was later promoted to Senior Laser and Photonics Engineer. In 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Southern California. From 2018 to 2020, they were an Optical Systems Engineering Intern at FARO Technologies. In 2014, they began working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Central Florida, where they conducted research in semiconductor nonlinear optics, nonlinear spectroscopy, and ultrafast laser.

Sepehr Benis obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Tehran between 2009 and 2014. Sepehr then went on to obtain a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Optics from the University of Central Florida between 2014 and 2016. Sepehr completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nonlinear Optics Group (NLO) from the University of Central Florida in 2020. In addition, Sepehr Benis has obtained two certifications, a Fundamentals of Project Planning and Management from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 2022 and an edX Professional Certificate for Silicon Photonics Design, Fabrication and Data Analysis from edX in 2021.
