Vala Fathipour

Vala Fathipour has a diverse work experience, beginning with a Research Assistantship at the University of Tehran in 2009. In 2011, they began a Research Assistantship at Northwestern University, followed by an Internship at Fermilab in 2012. In 2016, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2018, they began working as a Senior Optical Engineer at Cruise. Most recently, in 2020, they began working as a Staff Optical Engineer at SiLC Technologies, Inc.

Vala Fathipour began their education at COLOMA CONVENT GIRLS' SCHOOL before moving on to ST. PETER'S RC HIGH SCHOOL & SIXTH FORM CENTRE, where they earned their GCSE. Vala then attended the University of Tehran for both their BSc in Electronics (2005-2009) and MSc in Electronics-Semiconductor Devices (2009-2011). Following this, they attended The University of Edinburgh for their MEng in Electronics (2004-2005). Finally, they earned their PhD in Photonics & Solid States from Northwestern University (2011-2016).
