Russell Sutherland

Russell Sutherland is a seasoned Senior Product Manager currently leading Product Strategy and delivery for the Translational Genomics Team at Silence Therapeutics plc since April 2022. Previously, Russell held the role of Senior Product Manager at BenevolentAI from November 2015 to April 2022 and also served as a Biomedical Data Scientist. Russell completed a PhD in Bioinformatics at King's College London from 2011 to 2015, focusing on large-scale Next Generation Sequence cancer data analysis using machine learning techniques. Earlier experience includes a Trainee Marketing Science Executive position at Millward Brown, where statistical analyses were employed to provide business insights, as well as a Graduate Research Assistant role at M-E-L Research, involved in report writing and data analysis for public sector clients. Russell holds an MSc in Analytical Genomics from the University of Birmingham and a BSc in Biological Sciences from The University of Edinburgh.
