Katherine Boronow

Staff Scientist at Silent Spring Institute

Katherine Boronow has worked in a variety of roles since 2007. Katherine began their career as a Vertebrate Zoology Museum Assistant at the Peabody Museum of Natural History in 2007. In 2009, they became an Environmental Scientist at Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG), where they analyzed environmental air monitoring data, compiled industry-specific data on workplace exposure to silica, and conducted site visits to industrial establishments. From 2011 to 2015, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Harvard University, where they conducted ecological field research in 5 countries, collected and analyzed data, and taught a weekly lab and discussion section for an introductory biology course. Currently, they are a Staff Scientist at Silent Spring Institute, where they research endocrine disrupting and cancer-causing chemicals and manages the development of the Digital Exposure Report-Back Interface (DERBI).

Katherine Boronow attended Harvard University from 2011 to 2015, earning a Master of Arts (MA) in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. Katherine previously attended Yale University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
