Tom Waern

Tom Waern is a Product Manager at Silex Microsystems since August 2019, overseeing multiple high-volume products in a highly autonomous and diverse product portfolio. Prior experience includes coordinating the LODESTAR Bexus/Rexus 27 project under ESA, focusing on the measurement and analysis of solar cell performance in stratospheric conditions. Tom also worked as a Machine Learning Consultant at Vidilab, developing an algorithm to detect parasite eggs in horse feces with improved accuracy and speed, and completed a master thesis at Sandvik Coromant, automating production flow at the factory. Seasonal work as a Conservationist at Västkuststiftelsen involved maintaining cultural landscapes and enhancing visitor accessibility. Tom holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Uppsala University and participated in exchange studies in Computer Science and Chinese at National Taiwan Normal University.
