Alex Kates

Alex Kates is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in product applications and project management within the technology sector. Currently serving as a Senior Product Applications Engineer at Silicon Labs since September 2015, Alex provides technical support for Zigbee and other wireless integration technologies while leading cross-functional teams and generating essential technical documentation. Previous roles include Project Lead Engineer at Astro-Med, Inc., R&D Supervisor at Grass Technologies, and Firmware Software Engineer at Astro-Med. Alex holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Tufts University. Additionally, Alex founded Squid Country Safari, providing multimedia exhibits for museums across the United States.
