Jill Knudson

Jill Knudson has an extensive work experience in the medical devices industry. Jill is currently working as a Senior Director of New Product Development and Post Market Surveillance at Silk Road Medical since May 2021. Prior to that, they had their own quality consulting firm called Jill Knudson Quality Consulting in the medical devices industry from February 2021 to May 2021.

Before starting their consulting firm, Jill worked at Medtronic as an Engineering Director of Quality from January 2016 to February 2021. In this role, they led the Quality team and the Endovenous Business Unit to drive quality performance and compliance in various aspects of the company's operations. Jill played a key role in the successful quality integration and development of product designs, resulting in a significant increase in revenue. Jill also achieved notable improvements in quality and efficiency, including a 70% reduction in complaint closure times.

Prior to Medtronic, Jill held the position of Senior Director of Design Quality Engineering at Covidien (now part of Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group) from April 2013 to January 2016. Here, they directed pre-market design quality for the Peripheral Vascular and Venous Solutions businesses, ensuring the design and compliance of quality products. Jill collaborated with the R&D function to establish a robust and efficient design process and successfully developed and released 10 products.

Jill's previous experience includes working as the Director of Product Reliability & Quality Engineering at ev3/Covidien from August 2006 to April 2013, where they led multiple quality teams supporting the peripheral vascular business. Jill was recognized for driving cultural improvement and achieving significant reductions in customer complaints and field escalations.

Earlier in their career, Jill held leadership roles at Catheter & Disposables Technology Inc, where they served as the General Manager from December 2004 to June 2006 and the Director of Operations and Engineering from May 2003 to December 2004. Jill successfully increased revenue and implemented strategies for manufacturing growth and stability.

Jill began their career at Boston Scientific as a Quality Manager.

Jill Knudson holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology (Microbiology) and Chemistry from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
