Baiqiang XIA

Baiqiang Xia has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of AI, data science, and research. Baiqiang currently holds the position of Lead AI Scientist at Silo AI, where they have been working since October 2021. Previously, they worked as a Senior AI Scientist at the same company from March 2021 to October 2021, and as an AI Scientist from October 2019 to February 2021.

Prior to joining Silo AI, Baiqiang was a Senior Data Scientist at Top Data Science Ltd. for a period of six months in 2019.

In terms of research roles, Baiqiang worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu from September 2018 to February 2019, focusing on deep learning powered face analysis for healthcare problems, specifically related to depression. Baiqiang also held a position as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lancaster University from August 2016 to August 2018, working on machine learning based eye-movement analysis for various neurological diseases such as dementia, ADHD, autism, epilepsy, dyslexia, and prosopagnosia.

Baiqiang started their research career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin from October 2014 to July 2016.

Before transitioning into research and AI-related roles, Baiqiang gained industry experience through internships as a software engineer at Beijing Ruifeng Xietong Technology Co.,Ltd in 2011, as well as at Spirent Communications in 2010. Baiqiang also had a software engineer internship at Digital China in 2009.

Overall, Baiqiang Xia has a strong background and expertise in AI, data science, and research, with experience in both industry and academic settings.

Baiqiang Xia completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science, specializing in computer vision, from the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology. This educational journey took place from 2011 to 2014.

Before pursuing their PhD, Xia attended Beihang University from 2005 to 2011. At Beihang, they obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Control Science and Technology with a focus on Aircraft Design and Reliability.

In terms of additional certifications, Xia acquired the title of Data Scientist from Dataquest.io in September 2018. Baiqiang also obtained a certification in Airworthiness from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in August 2011.
