Jarrod Haas

Jarrod Haas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jarrod is currently working as an AI Scientist at Silo AI since February 2023. Before that, they worked at Digitalist North America as a Tech Lead and Applied ML Research from August 2021 to November 2022 and as an Applied Research Scientist - Machine Learning from May 2019 to August 2021.

Prior to their role at Digitalist North America, Haas worked at MDA as a Research And Development Scientist and as an Associate Research and Development Scientist from September 2017 to February 2019. During their time at MDA, they worked on various projects related to object detection in optical satellite images, image segmentation, uncertainty estimation for DL models, anomaly detection in time series data, noise removal in SAR images, and unsupervised learning strategies.

Haas also has experience in the operations field, having worked at GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. as an Operations Analyst, Operations Coordinator, and Customer Solutions / Operations Support from 2013 to 2016.

Jarrod Haas has a diverse education history. Jarrod is currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering Science with a specialization in Deep Learning at Simon Fraser University, a program which began in 2018 and is expected to be completed in 2024. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computing Science from the same university, completing their studies in 2017. Before their undergraduate studies, Jarrod attended Trinity Western University, where they earned a Master's degree in Divinity, although the specific start year is unknown. Additionally, they completed a program in Cross Cultural Leadership at Northwest Baptist Seminary in 2008.
