Magnus Sahlgren

Magnus Sahlgren has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of AI and natural language processing. Currently, they serve as the Head of Research in NLU at AI Sweden. Prior to this, they were the Research Lead for Applied Language Technology at AI Sweden. In 2023, they became an AI Advisor at Pirr and a Principal AI Scientist at Silo AI. From 2008 to 2021, they worked at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden as a Senior Expert and Head of Natural Language Processing. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Senior Research Scientist at FOI, Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut. In 2008, they also founded Gavagai and served as the Chief Scientist until 2018. Magnus Sahlgren has also worked as a Research Scientist at SICS, Swedish Institute of Computer Science from 2000 to 2010. Additionally, they briefly served as the Acting Head of the Computational Linguistics Department at Stockholm University in 2008, where they were involved in syllabus design, planning, and research in Computational Linguistics.

Magnus Sahlgren earned their PhD in Computational Linguistics from Stockholm University, completing their studies from 1993 to 2006.
